Agilus is recruiting for a Hydrovac Operator in the Oil and Gas services sector in Cheyenne, Wyoming (and in Denver, Colorado).
Reporting to the Fluid Services Manager, the Hydrovac Operator is responsible for participating in and overseeing the successful completion of hydro excavation processes, which includes the operation of hydrovac and other required equipment to excavate, load, dig, or break up rocks, debris, dirt, or other materials. This position will also be expected to support our client’s other service lines in the off-season. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment in the areas including, but not limited to, utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and digging. Operate Hydrovac equipment in a safe and professional manner.
- Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for operation. Ensure all equipment and components are in good working condition.
- Conduct pre and post trip inspections by following our client’s policies and procedures for routine maintenance. Safely and efficiently load and chain down equipment for transport.
- Understand load securement and hours of service regulations. Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices. Follow safety standards set by our client and their customer.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation properly within set timelines; this includes daily logs, dispatch and trip reports, timesheets, etc. Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Perform general housekeeping to ensure units are in a clean state and operating properly. Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and wash bay.
- Participate in training and development activities. Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Class 3 or 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) license with a clean driving record . 5+ years hydrovac operating experience.
- Knowledge of basic underground utilities. Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time and in all types of weather conditions. Willing to travel for assignments, for up to two weeks at a time. Accommodations will be provided.
- Willing to support other business lines in the off season. Able to work overtime and travel.
- Worked in a similar environment (shop sites, remote locations). Knowledge of Federal Hours of Service.
- Paperwork and computer skills as well as the ability to make timely submissions. Maintenance knowledge, mechanically inclined, and have the ability to troubleshoot.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable. Flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Understands the importance of safety. Team player and customer service focused. Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.
